On the Event

This workshop is the first step in bringing together scholars with an interest in the region to forge further collaborations and conversations in the interest of developing interdisciplinary study of Pandya Nadu. The 2-day closed workshop will involve presentations by scholars from different disciplines with the aim of producing either an edited volume or a special issue of a journal. A thematic Carnatic music concert on Pandya Nadu by Sikkil C. Gurucharan will inaugurate the proceedings on the evening of Thursday, April 20. The first day of the workshop (Friday, April 21) will be devoted to presentations by the 10 speakers. The second day, Saturday, April 22, will involve a roundtable discussion of common themes and future directions for collaboration and publication.

This conference is organized by Professor Martha Selby (Harvard University), Professor Archana Venkatesan (University of California, Davis) and Prof. Anna Seastrand (University of Minnesota).
